I've read this 4 times now, hence my nudge as I wondered if there was other work behind a paywall. Colin Lewis has also written really well around the issue. DTC, marketplaces, last mile & returns is a thorny issue to which I keep returning like a dog to its vomit in regard to achieving long term growth & increased margin. The 2 great facts in that article for me are 1) Nike cannot hit the same margins with their DTC as their retail (if they can't, who can) and Gymshark's 5 months payment terms (a really scummy way to run a business) but is that what you have to do???
